germay's fucking deadly.

we've been shopping all day every day. and the clothes are really nice and cheap, as is everything else. especially food. and the germans really have their nightlife sorted. around 3 euro entry to any club, with a stamp on the hand so you can go back in or whatever. drinks are ridiculously cheap. so far we've been to a 99 cent party, where all the drinks were 99c and they played crappy chart music and all the germans danced the same. then we went on to an 'indie' club called the Zartbitter Party which was ok but german indie people are weird. none of them seem to talk to random people when drunk. mad. oh and they all dance the same too!!!! seriously. but check us out on the german internet: they were on unight under Die neuesten Fotos!! but we've since been replaced. *sniff. we can now be found here, here (just nic and niamh) and here (my cobbler and i) oh and here is niamh's german boyfriend, benji.

we also went to a kind of hip hop club where the whole place has uv lighting and too many people wear all white for it be mere coincidence. oh and there are poles to dance around on podiums. and a big bed upstairs with curtains around it for frolicking on. disturbing. so we were sitting down watching the blatant posers. and this guy got up on the podium and started doing these really fancy manouvers. he was actually really good. i suspect professional ;) are there any male pole dancers??

then last night we went to the irish bar for a while. then on to 'drum and basement' which was surprisingly fun. the music was a bit on the repetitive side. ahem. but the athmosphere was way better. people were actually ripping the piss out their dancing and no one cares what anyone is doing. and people check each other out and smile at each other. i was talking to a fine cobbler who told me i had a very beautiful name and gave me chewing gum. that URL up there ^ should have a photo of us talking soon.

this afternoon we're going for a picnic in the park.

did you know that men can't piss standing up into german toilets because they're designed weirdly and it splashes everywhere.

ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh and i got my ideal blazer jacket thing in H&M, turquoisey green cord and really nice cut. germany rocks!!

witnness (i still refuse to call it the 'o' word) was really good. knackered today and feel like my whole body has been tenderised with a meat hammer. apart from some annoying things like zips breaking, trousers ripping and rain, it was great. no one drunk annoyed us, apart from our camping neighbours who insisted on blaring early 90s techno right beside us from 6am, it was frankly uneventful apart from some very good bands and general merriment. snow patrol, the strokes, franz ferdinand, N.E.R.D. and the libertines stand out in particular. my photos have been dropped in to be developed today so i'll be putting some up if they're any good.

heh. apparently i'm :

You are an SRDF--Sober Rational Destructive Follower. This makes you a font of knowledge. You are cool, analytical, intelligent and completely unfunny. Sometimes you slice through conversation with a cutting observation that causes silence and sidelong glances. You make a strong and lasting impression on everyone you meet, the quality of which depends more on their personality than yours.

You may feel persecuted, as you can become a target for fun. Still, you are focused enough on your work and secure enough in your abilities not to worry overly.

You are productive and invaluable to those you work for. You are loyal, steadfast, and conscientious. Your grooming is impeccable. You are in good shape.

You are kind of a tool, but you get things done. You are probably a week away from snapping.

and i'm thinking it's not far wrong ;)

was up in dublin for 2 days there this week. tried to give blood on wednesday but apparently i don't have enough iron to spare any. harumph. but we went to see 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' which was really good.

thursday night was the opening of the end of year exhibition in college which was amazing. so intimidating but inspiring at the same time. it's sad we're losing our third years but i hope a lot of them get into fourth year to do the add on year for degree in interactive media. i saw the fourth years' exhibition on friday and wow. really impressed. i'd love to do that sort of thing. i just hope i get a chance to.

the exhibition is on for the next week i think and if you're interested you should totally go down and have a look. it's free and not just graphics and interactive media. there's all sorts of fine art and photography too. go. see it. it's brilliant!

heh. most musically confused teenager i've seen on tv for ages. a girl in an incubus t-shirt, feverently clapping and hollering at the blazing squad while wearing a justinesque trucker hat. god bless her eclectic musical taste. if only they were actually good bands.(disclaimer: jt is great. i just don't like the trucker hat thing. it's been done to death).

ooh. and snow patrol are no.4 on the cd:uk singles charts today. nice one.
speaking of which, i have my ticket bought for the 'patrols next gig. and i can't fricking wait. i get little excited squeal and clapping fits ever so often. and this time i'm bringing 3 of my class mates. playing a cd repeatedly in class does wonders for subliminal musical education of others. and you should go too. they're fuckin' class so they are. ;)

our dog ran away last week. on her honeymoon. so my parents got lonely with only my old old sheepdog for company and security duties. so they answered an ad to give a good home to a coarse haired sheep dog from enfield whose owners are moving to a rented house where they can't have pets. so benji came to stay here at chez taylour. he's 4 years old and a gentle and affectionate little dog. then the next day, heidi came home. so we have 3 dogs again.

so. i'm just after finishing watching my second dvd of the day in the college library and am enjoying today immensley. we had our panel assessment on tuesday which i had everything ready for and what not and i'm fairly happy with what i presented and the way i presented it. and we just had to leave it there and leave them to look at it. which is always preferrable to talking in front of the class. so i watched 'Memento' in the library while waiting for preliminary feedback. will know more once we get one on one feedback in 2 weeks time. was up until 4 on sunday night and 3 on monday but slept most of yestereday to make up for it. then came in to organise my presentation for the photography block we've just finished. then went to see 'Lost in Translation'. which was good but strangely not japanese enough for me. although i know it's about the characters and not so much about where it's set, i'm reading 'Geisha' at the moment and was left wanting more in that department. i've decided that i want to look like Scarlet Johannsen. or however you spell her.

anyway, so our presentation for today. i think should have gone ok. we thought we'd have to talk about it in front of the whole class but didn't in the end. so i watched 'Lolita' this morning and 'Disco Pigs' this afternoon. it makes such a change that there's actually nothing else in the world that i should be doing. this rocks.

so celebratory drinking tonight then bakers then party at our house. which most of my class actually seem to be coming to. which makes a change. then we don't have class tomorrow morning. so we can sleep in. and then we only have tutorials for 5 minutes each in the afternoon. which is nice.

then Hal are playing the stables and i think ais is coming down to the eoc to accompany me. yay.

so yeah, i'm getting on a lot better this week.
